The Penumbral Promise

This was built for the Scream Jam 2023. I had some lofty goals for this jam; translation: Too big of scope. I originally wanted to play on a sanity system inspired by Eternal Darkness, where staying in darkness would have progressively more dangerous effects. To converse that, I wanted to have a monster actively hunt you when you were in bright conditions. This way I could have one half of the player experience steeped in the dread of amplifying insanity, and the active fear of being chased.
But...I spent too much time working on spawning and pathfinding of the monster, and tweaking sanity things that by the time I started plotting out the level design, I found myself needing to work on a bunch of shaders just to get the scene to look presentable.

Nevertheless, I give you phase 1 and 2 of this game. I had some wonderful talent do some voices for the Protagonist, Radio Voice (ran out of time to give a proper radio/white noisy effect for) and Antagonist. I definitely want to come back to this project to finish the third phase as well as sanity and monster systems because their work deserves to have all their lines represented and played out.
